Beyond Survival - new programme for frontline BME organisations
'Beyond Survival: the BME Strategy Programme' aims to help frontline Black Minority and Ethnic organisations become more successful and sustainable. The programme is being run by brap and NCVO, and is funded through Capacitybuilders' Improving Reach investment.
The programme will run from early 2009 to March 2011
and will operate through a cascade model; recruiting around 25 'strategy
champions' from within infrastructure organisations to help deliver key elements
of the programme. Each 'champion' will receive free training and support and
£4000 to help BME organisations to develop stronger strategies.
Eight
training sessions are to be run in Birmingham or London between April 2009 and
May 2010 to enable the 'champions' to then support five frontline BME
organisations to develop their own strategic planning skills.
